Tonight I went to Tufts' 2014 Day of Remembrance event Journey to Manzanar: Forging Community Through 'Pilgrimage' to see yonsei filmmaker Tad Nakamura speak about how film and art can be used for social change. I was hoping to finish a post about it tonight but that's not going to happen. The talk was excellent and you should absolutely go and see him speak tomorrow (technically today - Tuesday 2/25/14) if you can.
He'll be screening his 2003 film Yellow Brotherhood at 5pm at the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center for the Asian American Resource Workshop and the Boston Asian American Film Festival. At 7pm he'll be screening his 2009 film A Song For Ourselves at Northeastern.
If you can't make it, you can watch all his short films at his website.
